School Nurse - Ely

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our clients team in Ely. As the School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff members. Your primary responsibilities will include providing medical care, administering treatments, managing health records, and promoting health education initiatives within the school community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Care: Provide direct medical care to students, faculty, and staff for illnesses, injuries, and emergencies occurring during school hours.
2. Health Assessments: Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
3. Medication Administration: Administer medications according to prescribed dosages and maintain accurate records of medication distribution.
4. Health Education: Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy lifestyle choices and prevent illness and injury.
5. First Aid: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed, following established protocols.
6. Health Records Management: Maintain comprehensive and confidential health records for all students, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to address health-related concerns and support student well-being.
8. Emergency Preparedness: Participate in emergency preparedness drills and provide training to staff members on emergency response procedures.
9. On-Call Duties: Participate in optional on-call shifts as needed, providing medical support during evenings and weekends.

 

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC Pin
• Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred but not essential.
• Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
