Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Registered General Nurse to work in our surgical ward at our client's Hammersmith location. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Surgical ward experience is desirable but not essential. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients admitted to the surgical ward, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medication management protocols.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and condition, reporting any changes or concerns to the senior nursing staff.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of patient care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Provide support and education to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-care management.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, surgeons, and allied health staff, to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities to enhance nursing practice and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Previous experience working in a surgical ward setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
