Revalidation for Agency Nurses

How to sign up on NMC Online

All the information you’ll need regarding renewal and registration dates can be found via your online NMC account. The NMC website has a wealth of information and guidance on how to complete your revalidation.

 

Record your revalidation evidence

Nurses need a portfolio of evidence to show the courses and training you’ve completed over the three years leading up to your revalidation. You can store this information in paper form, on an electronic device or online. For agency nurses, we recommend keeping your payslips, nurse training certificates and timesheets as a record of your work. 

Every 3 years, you must demonstrate:

1. 450 hours of practice
2. 35 hours of CPD (20 hours of which must be participative)
3. 5 pieces of feedback and demonstration of performance improvement 
4. 5 reflective statements of what you’ve learnt during CPD 
5. Annual appraisals with a senior practitioner
6. A reflective discussion – this must be done face-to-face with a senior nurse
